The Saskatchewan Secondary Suite Incentive grant program is a financial boost designed to support your home improvement plans, and is available for homeowners looking to finish their basements or add a secondary suite.

The SSI grant program will provide 35% of the total price to construct a new secondary suite at an owner’s primary residence, to a maximum of $35,000 for a qualifying suite.

To qualify, a secondary suite must be on the property of a single-family home and include a separate entrance, full kitchen, full bathroom and meet all national, provincial, and municipal bylaws, codes and standards to be used as a rental unit.

Costs of renovating an existing secondary suite or the primary residence are not eligible.
